Default 7mgte upgrades

figured there should be an upgrade thread of sorts. i wouldent call it an upgrade path really (but if thats what your looking for hears a link to an older and a bit out dated path for those flying blind its better than nothing i guess Newbie's guide to Modifying your MK3 turbo - Supraforums.com) more of an upgrades that work, why and when. its my opinion that some upgrades are a matter of wantes and needs and others a must!

ill be trying to take pics and detailed write ups of any of my suggestions and opinions but for know in my opinion your first upgrade should be to maintain your car!!!! adding 500hp to a 20 plus year old car is well stupid! check, flush and replace every oil you can find in the car even the blinker fluid! do a tune up! plugs, wires, check/clean/and coat or your grounds and if you have 4gauge wire laying around add some more grounds just in case. clean out your tb(throttle body) go to walmart and have them do a fuel induction service if thay have some one smart enough to do it. i say walmart cause the last time i checked thay do it for 20 bucks. i do mine my self its not hard. i have a autotech employee somewere that gives me the chemical for free. make a friend and find a hookup. check your knock sensors and the wires leading to them this is very important! 7m's dont like it when there knock sensor dont function right! water pump, timing belt and for all your worth HEAD GASKET!!!!!!!! retorque it at the least to the proper specs! check your crank pully bolt make sure its torque done! keep your engine oil a quart over or at least half a quart. holly crap im rambling sorry ill find some pics to post soon.

no there windage trays suck on the 7mgte. on hard turns the oil splashes hard to one side or the other and your pickup tube gos dry unpriming the pump and then you end up with rod knock. over filling it slightly is just i quick fix do not over fill by alot! the proper fixes are posted on a few sights but can be complicated for some. i will touch on them soon as im busy for the holidays.
