Default Auto shift lever mod..

ok here is my attept for a write up... hope this helps everyone.. and this is how I did it. Im sure there are a lot of ways to do it.. hope this helps guides you in doing this mod....lol

Stock shifter...

pulled collor down to expose 2 set screws. one in back and one in front

Shifter removed

remove base

stripped

back together .. here i put a M10 nut over the rod and tapped it into the shifter shaft, so the rod wouldnt sway inside the shaft with the weight of the knob. then attached a nylon 5mx8 nut onto the rod and set the travel of the rod to go completely down to allow the shift lock to work...it also doulbes as a stop for the shift knob from spinning around freely

6speed shift knob with the small plastic wedge thingy that came off the rod. I took off about 1/2 to 3/4 of i inch off it so it would sit deep inside the shift knob. I then expoxyed it into the knob to hold it in place. When placing the knob onto the rod screw it down and test the travel to make sure you can get it out of park (the shift lock) once you figure out the travel I put a little threadlock on the threads and installed the knob. Works great and doesnt look like an auto anymore.

Here is the final product. I couldnt find a 6 speed RHD console panel.. so I made one..lol.. from a LHD one. (I merged the two together)

Now as far as the O/D button goes. You can either drill out a small hole and install it into the panel or do what i did and I just left it under the console piece. I dont ever push the button.. so i dont use it EVER..lol..
Also you can use any shift knob. I have seen people use the momo one. I wanted to keep it stock supra look, thats why I used the 6speed one.
