Default Technical Terms

BCC - Boost Cut Controller by Greddy (Highly recommended to use by mkiv.com)

FCD - fuel cut controller by HKS (not recommended to use by mkiv.com)

FFCD - Free fuel-cut defenser, a modification which allows higher boost than stock. (not recommended to use by mkiv.com)

BPU - Basic performance upgrades( see related FAQ question )

TB - Throttle Body

IC - Intercooler

SMIC - Side-mount intercooler ( like the stock unit )

FMIC or CMIC - Center-mount / Front mount intercooler ( see related FAQ question )

EBC - Electronic Boost Controller, like the Blitz DSBC or the Apexi AVCR

MBC - Manuel Boost Controller, like this home made unit.

AVCR - An electronic boost control unit manufactured by Apexi.

DSBC - An electronic boost control unit manufactured by Blitz.

Profec-B - An electronic boost control unit manufactured by Greddy.

EVC - An electronic boost control unit manufactured by HKS.

DP - Downpipe, a straight-through pipe which replaces the two stock catalytic converters.

BOV - Blow-off valve, used on the intake tract to relieve pressure during shifts.

VPC - Vein Pressure Converter an aftermarket airflow sensing unit used on high-HP cars.(HKS Product)

VSV - Vacuum Switching Valve

ECU - Electronic Control Unit, or engine computer

G-Force - An aftermarket ECU modification product.

STTS - Sequential Twin-Turbo Setup, i.e. stock turbo setup.( see related FAQ question )

RWHP - Rear wheel horsepower, or what you see when you put the car on a dyno.

RMM - Rod Millen Motorsports, supplier of Downpipes.
